Armando Cafiero

Graduate in Economics with a specialization in Banking, from 1987 to 2008 he worked in Assocarta (the trade association of Italian paper, cardboard, and pulp producers, part of the Confindustria system), where he held the position of Managing Director since 2001.

Since 2008 he is the Managing Director of Confindustria Ceramica. In Italy, this sector employs 31,500 professionals, is worth over €7.4 billion and devotes 75% of its production to international markets.
He is General Manager of Edi.Cer. (a subsidiary of Confindustria Ceramica), which organizes CERSAIE every year.

He has actively worked both at national and international level, participating in Commissions and Working Groups that deal with energy, raw materials and competitiveness of the industrial sectors, at the European Union and the FAO.

He is the CEO of Gas Intensive a.r.l., a consortium promoted by eight industrial associations of gas-intensive sectors, with over 200 member companies.

He is a member of the CET Executive Committee, the European Federation of Ceramic Tile Manufacturers, and a member of the Board of Coverings.
